The Celestial Mirror
A multisensory journey inspired by the moon's profound symbolism in Sufism. Held within a meditative space draped in white fabric and bathed in soft projections, guests were invited to move through an evening of reflection, renewal, and revelation.
The journey began with dates amuse bouches and water shared around mirrored circles, while a warm simulation of the sun's glow pulsed gently on the white fabric. As the Adhan called in the sacred hour, guests broke their fast and began a collective meditation on the elemental connection between the human spirit and the moon.
Each course unfolded a new layer of meaning: soup honoring the shared characteristics between us and the moon; a salad served on plates glazed with the Arabic letter ھـ, illustrating its synchronicity to lunar phases; pies shaped like the evolving moon; and a Lebanese interpretation of mochi, set against a desert landscape projection.
Throughout the night, poetry, storytelling, and sacred chants wove through the room, creating a living dialogue between sound, taste, and image.
