Imprisoned within carefully crafted systems, we sit watching shadows / reflections of life flickering across our screens. In such a world, resistance begins with something simple: slowing down.
The experience opened with a screening of Levant’s Allegory of the Cave, drawing parallels between the ancient metaphor and the realities of our present. What chains us today may look different, but the essence remains the same.
Guests were then welcomed to a long communal table, where vine leaves awaited them. The room was filled with the quiet intimacy of shared labor. Throughout the session, a series of interventions—poetry, film, and thought-provoking questions—wove through the space, guiding conversations on resistance, rest, and the vital, often overlooked role of women in today’s struggles.
In the act of rolling vine leaves, a powerful metaphor emerged: resistance can be gentle, yet persistent. It can unfold in the simplest gestures—nurturing, connecting, reclaiming presence one leaf at a time.
