Vine Leaves for Resistance

Inspired by Plato's Allegory of the Cave, this participatory dining experience reflected on how contemporary life is increasingly shaped by digital mediation (a false world of shadows) and on the forms of resistance available within it. Through film, food, poetry, and conversation, the project invited participants to consider how working with our hands can become an act of resistance, helping us reclaim presence in a world that often pulls us away from lived experience.

Centred around the communal preparation of vine leaves, the experience transformed a familiar act of making into a space for reflection and dialogue. The work proposed that resistance need not always be dramatic or confrontational; it can also emerge through slowness, nurturing, connection, and the deliberate reclaiming of attention.
